Next Monday, May 4, is the start of May Mystery Month at the Milford Memorial Library. Help us solve the Case of the Missing Dog. Each week through the month of May, we will give you an opportunity to be a detective and find out what happened to our big stuffed dog. Follow the clues throughout the month and win a mystery prize.

Did you know you can manage your account by logging in on the front page of our catalog? All you need to log in is your card number and phone number. Through your account you can see your account information, items out/renewals, reserves/requests, and bookmarks. If you have a favorite author you can receive books from that author automatically by arranging it under reserves/requests. The catalog now allows you to get emailed receipts. Let us know if you would like us to set you up to get emailed receipts, or you can log into your account and do it yourself.

On Tuesday, April 21, at 1:00 p.m., the Open Book Discussion Group will talk about The Hundred-Foot Journey. This book is about the hundred-foot distance between an Indian kitchen and a French kitchen and the gulf between different cultures.

All young adults 5th through 12th grade are invited to come to the library on Wednesday, April 22, after 2:00 p.m., to participate in an upcycling paper craft. We will transform a magazine into a basket.

Wednesday, April 22, is Earth Day. “Look at any randomly selected piece of your world. This week is National Library Week and it is a celebration of the contribution of libraries across the nation. This is also a time to promote library use and support. On Friday, April 17, from 1-3 p.m., the public is invited to come to the library for an open house. We will have cake and punch. This is a great time to ask our librarians about all the services Milford Memorial Library offers. All week patrons will have the opportunity to write what they like about the Milford Memorial Library on the library windows. Join us in celebrating National Library week.

The winners of the Milford Memorial Library Coloring Contest have been chosen. There were four different age groups and the winner of each group received an Easter basket. The winner of the 2, 3, and 4 year olds was Kaeden Schillinger. The winner of the 5 year olds was Lillie Schwager. Winner of the 6, 7, and 8 year olds was Hunter Grems. The winner of the 9 and 10 year olds was Zoey Stecker. Congratulations to all of the winners of the coloring contest.
