What is made up of of small irregularly cut pieces that fit together to make a picture? The jigsaw puzzle! Thursday, January 29, is National Puzzle Day and we have so many different puzzles here at the library that you can borrow. Stop in and ask to look at our list of puzzles. We have 300, 500, 550, 750, 1000 piece puzzles! You can choose a challenge or something easier.

Join Betty Naab, our children’s librarian, as she reads stories about “Animals in the Snow.” Our public storytime starts at 10 a.m. this Friday, January 30.

An open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will be held Wednesday, February 4, at 5:30 p.m. A free computer class will be led by Jeff Cookinham after the meeting.

Tuesday, January 20, at 1:00 p.m., our Open Book Discussion Group will be meeting in the library to talk about Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler. This book tells the story of Zelda Fitzgerald in a way she herself might have told it. Open Book Discussion Group meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month. Did you know that the Milford Memorial Library offers a homebound delivery service? The library staff is willing to deliver and pick up books, audiobooks, or movies. Patrons may request specific titles or just let us know what types of items you are interested in and we can make the selections for you. We do ask that you allow us at least 24 hours to get your materials together and deliver them. We are happy to provide this service to our patrons when they are unable to come to us. Young adults and adults are invited to come to the Milford Memorial Library for a joint book discussion about Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14, at 2:30 p.m. This incredible true story about Louis Zamperini who was an Olympian, World War II bombardier, prisoner, and war hero has been made into a movie and came out in theaters on December 25. Need something warm to do on a cold winter day? Thursday, January 8, at 10 a.m., we will be looking for our Shelf Elves. Volunteers take on the task of organizing and cleaning a section of shelves. This helps our librarians and it will make sure you can find the book you are looking for that might have otherwise been misplaced.
