Milford Memorial Library News
 
Milford Memorial Library now has Iowa and Federal 1040 tax forms and the Federal 1040 tax instruction booklets. Federal forms and booklets are available in English and Spanish. MML will be charging for coping and printing tax forms. Blank tax forms will cost $0.10 per page and filled out tax forms will cost $0.20 per page.
 
MML’s Annual Spring Egg Hunt is over on Monday, April 1. Come and explore the inside the Milford Memorial Library. There are twelve eggs for participants to find. Fourth graders through adults may pick up the Spring Egg Hunt Sheet at MML’s front desk. Turn in completed sheet to be entered into a prize drawing. The Spring Hunt prizes are sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Library.
  
On Wednesday, April 3, at 5:30 p.m., an open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will take place in the Milford Community Center. The agenda will be posted on MML’s website and front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend and offer their thoughts in order to make MML a better library.
 
The Milford Memorial Library Book Club will be meeting on Tuesday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m., to discuss The Measure by Nikki Erlick. Any interested individuals are welcome to attend. It is not necessary to attend all of the book meetings, and you can come and go as you please.

This is the last week for Read Across America at Milford Memorial Library (Due: March 29). For this program, kiddos read in a variety of ways and complete four BINGOs for a small prize and/or complete the whole card for a large prize entry. Even though the Spring Coloring Contest is over, stop by the library to see all of the creative artwork and winners. Lastly, we would love to see everyone in April.

On Tuesday, March 26, at 7:00 p.m., join us at the Arnolds Park Library, for Paint Night at the Library. This month Kathy will lead us though a simple watercolor landscape painting. All supplies are provided by the libraries. Spots are limited so pre-register at Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, or Milford Memorial Library. The cost is $15 for registration. Registrants will need to pay prior to the event to secure their spot. You may also register by going to MML’s website.

Spring time is unpredictable, but MML has materials to fit them all. When the days are nice and you’re wanting to be outside, stop by MML to pick up an audiobook on Playaway, take the frisbee golf set out, or relax in a shaded spot with a book or magazine. However, we know there will be days that are gloomy, cold, and rainy. On these days stop in to select a movie or a puzzle to check out, read in a comfy chair, or bring the kids in to play.  For more ideas of fun to have at the library see MML’s Calendar of Events that can be found on our website, www.milford.lib.ia. us, or take a copy home when you stop in to see us.
 
Become a Friend of the Milford Memorial Library! Our Friends of the Milford Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps support the Milford Memorial Library through volunteering and financial assistance. They help the Milford Library provide essential services, programming and serve our area residents. An annual membership is $10 for an individual and $20 for a family. Stop by for a membership sheet or go to our website.

Have you completed 4 reading BINGOS? How about decorating a chick in an egg? Read Across America BINGO and the Spring Coloring Contest programs are going on at Milford Memorial Library. The BINGO card and coloring sheet are available at our library and on the Youth Page (milford.lib.ia.us/youth). Small prizes and a prize drawing entry are awarded for Read Across America, and Easter baskets are given to four different age groups (2-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-10). The BINGO card is due Friday, March 29, and the coloring sheet is due Monday, March 25. So don’t wait too long as the deadlines are quickly approaching on the calendar! Milford Memorial Library would like to congratulate Blind Date with a Book Winners, Kendra and Leighton. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this event. Thank you to the Friends of the Milford Library for providing the Blind Date with a Book prizes.

Milford Memorial Library Youth News

Milford Memorial Library has a variety of youth puzzles. The shelf is located to one’s left next to computer 3. Even though they cannot be checked out, feel free to spend an evening or Saturday morning with your family. While you are here, check out some books from our March displays. They include green books/St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, arts & crafts, flowers, and basketball. Plus, Miss Becca has put out some sheets on the shelves for family fun at home. Lastly, our library would love the community to show their kids that we are important by attending the different youth programs.
