Children and Young Adults, you have until Friday, August 7, at 5:30 p.m., to turn in your completed Summer Reading Trackers! Stop in to get your names into the drawings and get final prizes for filling out your garden. The Adult program ends on Monday, August 31.
 
 
Milford Memorial Library’s Building Bookworms will be taking a short break. We will resume our weekly storytimes on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. in September. For information, keep an eye on MML’s website (milford.lib.ia.us), Facebook page, and newspapers.
 
Take a step back in time and learn about your family’s history at Milford Memorial Library.  Ancestory.com- Library Edition is available on library computers and wifi.  Before ending your session, you will need to download or print your findings because the Library Edition does not allow you to save in an account.
 
Discover new authors and titles with the help of MML’s displays. Each month, library staff create displays to feature materials you may not notice or that have just been added to the collection.
 
Printing is available at Milford Memorial Library. For a single-sided black and white page it is $0.25 and a single-sided color page it is $0.50. For a double-Sided black and white page it is $0.50 and a double-sided color page it is $1.00.

The Friends of the Milford Library Foundation’s Annual Book Sale is here! Join us in the Milford Community Center for the following days and times to shop! All hardcover books are $1 and paperbacks are $0.50.

• Thursday, July 23, from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Friday, July 24, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
• Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. ($1 bag sale day)

 
Want to shop the Friends of the Milford Library Foundation Book Sale early? Join other volunteers and library staff on Thursday, July 23, at 11:00 a.m., for book sale set-up and pot luck. Once everything is in place, let the shopping begin. Volunteers can sign up by calling the library at 712-338-464 or emailing info@milford.lib.ia.us. We are also looking for volunteers to work the book sale on Friday and Saturday.

Pizza and a potluck will follow. Once everything is in place, let the shopping begin. Volunteers will get to shop early. On Wednesday, July 8, at 5:30 p.m., an open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will take place in the Milford Community Center. The agenda will be posted on MML’s website and front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend and offer their thoughts in order to make MML a better library.

Milford Memorial Library and Arnolds Park Library have hidden 12 plant loving dinosaurs in the area. We are inviting incoming 5th- 12th graders, to try and them. When you have located a dinosaur, scan the QR code and answer the question. Once you have found all 12, stop in to Milford or Arnolds Park Library to pick up a prize. The hunt ends on Friday, June 30, at 11:59 p.m.

It’s Carnival Time! You’re invited to join us celebrate the Summer Reading Finale on Wednesday, June 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Central Park, for yard games, face painting, ice cream, petting zoo, and more. This free come-and-go event is sponsored by the Arnolds Park, Milford, and Spirit Lake Libraries.

Join Iowa author Kelly Crull for a program featuring, a read-aloud, dinosaur facts, a hatch-your-own egg activity, a fossil dig station, a guest appearance from the Chick-o-saurus, and giveaways.

You’re invited to the 2026 Summer Reading Kick Off Party on Thursday, May 28, at Pioneer Theatre. Join Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Public Library, and Spirit Lake Public Library for two showings of The Land Before Time, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bring two non-perishable food items and receive one free popcorn. Other concessions will be available, but at your cost. This event is sponsored by the Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Library, and Spirit Lake Public Library.
 
On Saturday, May 30, MML will be hosting Weekend Creators from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During this free come-and-go craft event, materials for a variety of crafts will be out for Young Adults and Kids to complete.
 
Milford Library is collecting books for the Friends of the Milford Library Book Sale in July. Bring your like-new books to the Milford Memorial Library during open hours. We do not accept textbooks, Reader’s Digest Condensed, magazines, or encyclopedias. Materials with mold, mildew, or pages and spines falling apart or missing will not be taken.
