An open meeting of the Board of Trustees for Milford Memorial Library is at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, in the Milford Community Center. The agenda on MML’s website and front bulletin board atlest 24 hours in advance of the meeting. The public is welcome to join.

For extra chills check out the disturbing playlist and book recommendations. Top off the activity with a grotesque recipe. This frightful box ends on Friday, August 7, at 5:00 p.m. When you sign up, please tell us how you want to receive your box. Your choices are the following: pick up at Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Public Library, or have it delivered to your home.

The Adult Summer Reading Program activities include the Adult Craft Series and Paint by Number Night in August. We encourage you to use the library in many different ways.
 
       If you have materials to print, please email us at [email protected]. You may pick up your printing during the drive-up hours. Normal printing prices apply ($0.25 for black and white per page and $0.50 for color per page). We are currently not copying or sending faxes.

Milford Memorial Library’s Youth Summer Reading Program will continue through August.  Kiddos can read in a variety of ways and complete simple activities for a yard sign, prize bag, and entries in a large prize drawing.  This can be done through BookPoints (http://www.bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net) or a paper log.  Thank you again to all of the Youth SRP supporters as we couldn’t have done it without you.

They are able to earn points by reading, finding secret codes, and completing activities. Some of the activities include doing something nice for someone, completing Subscription Box activities, doing something fun and nostalgic from their childhood, writing someone else’s life story, and more. Each time they complete a level, they will earn a badge, prizes, and a raffle ticket toward the end of Summer Reading Program prize. Young Adults (4th-12th grade) can sign up by going online to bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net, through paper logs available at the library, by calling (712) 338-4643, or emailing [email protected]. All kits include an 8 x 10 numbered canvas, paint, paint brush, and instructions. You can do this kit on your own or you can join us on Zoom on Tuesday, July 28, from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. to participate as a group or ask any questions.

Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
 
       Even though weekly summer programming has concluded, youth can still earn an SRP yard sign and a bag full of prizes through the end of August at the Milford Memorial Library.  We have plenty of fun themed items and coupons to local businesses.  Plus every time a kiddo completes the three levels (BookPoints or paper form), s/he is entered in a large prize drawing.  So keep working hard by continuing to read those books and completing some engaging activities!

      Milford Memorial Library has a couple more weeks of the 2020 Youth Summer Reading Program.  Miss Becca has two more Storytime Grab and Go Bags on Mondays (July 13: mermaid wind twirl and July 20: dragon cup), as well as a Zoom Storytime with Miss Jane from Iowa Lakeside Lab (10:30 A.M., July 20). There are two Sidewalk Shenanigans left on Tuesdays (10:30 A.M., July 14: body movement and July 21: sundae bar).  Wednesdays are Facebook Challenges, and there are two more opportunities to get prizes with a simple word or picture post (July 15: Imagine Your Music Story and July 22: Imagine Your Kindness Story).  Lastly, kiddos can keep earning an amazing SRP yard sign and prize bag through completing a Reading-Activity Log. This can be done either on BookPoints (bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net) or a paper form.
