Milford Memorial Library’s 2023 Young Adult Summer Reading Challenge will run Thursday, June 1, through Friday, August 4. Fourth through twelfth graders will fill in a square for every 15 minutes they read or listen to an audiobook. Once completed, return your bookmark to MML for a small portable charger with flashlight and to be placed into a larger prize drawing. Make sure to write your first and last name and phone number on the back. Young Adults may pick up another bookmark to get more entries into the larger prize, but will only receive one charger.
Now is the time to register for the Young Adult Summer Reading Subscription Box 1! Fourth through twelfth graders may register at Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Library, or Spirit Lake Library. Subscription Box 1 will be filled with supplies for making a duct tape flower pen and a DIY Wreck-It journal. Also included is a basic foot scrub recipe, a playlist, and a reading list. This is a free activity, but it does require registration because there is a limit of 50 boxes. Box 1 can be picked up starting Tuesday, June 6, through Friday, June 16, at your registered library.
The Milford Memorial Library will have an Adult Summer Reading Program again this year! All you have to do is pick up a bookmark at the library and fill it out throughout the summer. You can bring the bookmark back to the library or log your reading online anytime between June 1 and August 4 for prizes. The Adult Summer Reading Program activities include the Adult Craft Series, Paint Night at the Library, and Community Connections events throughout June and July. We encourage you to use the library in many different ways.
On Wednesday, June 7, at 5:30 p.m., an open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will take place in the Milford Community Center. The agenda will be posted on MML’s website and front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend and offer their thoughts in order to make MML a better library.
