Summer Reading Program is in full swing! Reading Logs for all ages can now be picked up at MML and can be completed from now until Friday, August 2. The Youth program is for kids up to 4th grade, Young Adult is for 4th through 12th grades, and Adult is for everyone else.
 
Tuesday, June 4, join Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Public Library, and Spirit Lake Public Library at Central Park in Arnolds Park for the Iowa PBS STEAM Stations.  This is a come and go event with two sessions, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This is a free activity and no registration is required.  This event is sponsored by the Arnolds Park Library, Milford Memorial Library, and Spirit Lake Library.
 
Thursday, June 6, at the Pearson Lakes Art Center Overall Buddies will be preforming at 10:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Miss Lori Lynn Ahrends will sing songs that promote education, help grow self-confidence, curiosity, joy, awareness, and teach social skills. This is a free program and does not require registration. This is being sponsored by the Arnolds Park Library, Milford Memorial Library, and Spirit Lake Library.
 
Youth Paint in the Park will be on Wednesday, June 12, at Central Park in Arnolds Parks. Times are 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Registration is required for this free event. Monday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m., join MML’s Building Bookworms Storytime as we welcome our special guest from Iowa Lakeside Lab.
 
Come and enjoy sensory playtime on Monday, June 10, at 3:00 p.m., during Minds in Motion at Milford Memorial Library.
 
Everyone is welcome to join Milford Memorial Library for a showing of Over the Hedge, on Tuesday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m. Free popcorn will be available. No registration is required.
 
MML’s Young Adult Beach Reads are back! Beach bags will be located near the front desk. Each bag will have a book, snack, and a little item. Incoming 4th graders and 12th graders will only need to return the book to Milford Memorial Library.

Milford Memorial Library invites everyone to join us for the 2024 Summer Reading Program: Read, Renew, Repeat. We have programs and activities for all ages. For more information call MML at 712-338-4643 or stop in and talk with a librarian. We are excited to hang out with you this summer!

Showings are at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Bring two nonperishable food items and receive one free popcorn. Other concession items will be available at your cost.

The Friends of the Milford Library Foundation received a grant from the Dickinson County Endowment Fund for $2,500 in August of 2023 to start digitizing yearbooks in the Milford Memorial Library collection. We have completed the digitization of 39 of our yearbooks from 1918 – 1977. More are currently going through the digitization process. Minds in Motion will be Monday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. Guardians, your younger kids will explore, play, and learn during this sensory fun at Milford Memorial Library. All materials and services are provided by the library.

Dead Wake by Erik Larson, will be discussed on Tuesday, May 21, at 1:00 p.m., by the Milford Memorial Library Book Club. Any interested individuals are welcome to attend. It is not necessary to attend all of the book meetings, and you can come and go as you please.

Join us for CrAFTER Hours on Wednesday, May 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This month bring and work on your own craft project, while engaging in conversation. This is a free activity and does not require registration.
 
Younger kids and their guardians (and older siblings too) are invited to Minds in Motion on Monday, May 20, at 10:30 a.m. This is a sensory play time, where kids can freely explore, play, and learn with others. All materials and services are provided by the library.
 
There are only a few days left for incoming 5th through 12th graders to register for the Summer Snapshot Scavenger Hunt. Follow clues, take photos, and create a photo display. A limit of 50 scavenger hunts are available and registration ends on Wednesday, May 15! Call one of the libraries today to register.
