Basically, you will need to choose one library to be your ebook source. You won’t be able any longer to download from several different libraries. You will use the library in the town where you are a resident.
Residents of cities without libraries may check out these materials through a library that their city contracts for services with - Here are the contracting cities and their libraries:
- Okoboji residents may choose to use Arnolds Park Public Library or the Spirit Lake Public Library.
- Orleans residents use the Spirit Lake Public Library.
- Wahpeton residents may choose the Milford Memorial Library or the Spirit Lake Public Library.
- West Okoboji residents may choose the Milford Memorial Library or the Spirit Lake Public Library.
If you are here for the summer, you must ask your hometown library about the service.
This library service is called WILBOR (it includes downloadable ebooks and downloadable audiobooks). The changes will affect your WILBOR account if you already have one. As you specify which library you are qualified to use, you will lose existing lists such as your wish-list and waiting list . A good solution would be to begin your new account while phasing out your old account during the month of June, which is just before the change takes place on July 1st.
One nice thing is that all the libraries in the state use the same basic collection of ebooks and audiobooks, so your selection of materials will not change as you change which library you download them from. Check with your librarian for any questions you have. If you do not already use this popular library service, consider getting an account started.
