Just have a blind date with a book! All of February you can have a blind date with a book. Books from an assortment of genres, departments, fiction and non-fiction will be wrapped in brown paper. Sure, it might turn out to be a dud, or it could be the diamond in the rough you wouldn't have given a chance otherwise.
               
All students in 5th – 12th grade are invited to come to MML for the Libratory STEM program on Monday, February 6, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. We are drilling blackboard painted hearts. Join area libraries on Tuesday, January 17, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Arnolds Park Library for a fun night of painting, community, and snacks! Register early because there are only 30 spots available. The cost for early registration is $7.50 and registration the day of the event is $15. Those interested can register at the Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, and the Milford Memorial Library. Attendees of any skill level are invited to recreate a beautiful painting by following step-by-step instructions from the artist who created the original painting. Participants will be painting on a 16 x 20 canvas and all the supplies are provided by the libraries. Mark your calendars for Paint Night at the Library! Sponsored by Arnolds Park Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, and Milford Memorial Library.

IGL TeleConnect is offering monthly tech classes led by Tech Support Consultant Mak Kloewer. The classes titled “Tech Tuesday’s with Mak” will cover a variety of topics related to computers and the internet. These classes are geared towards those who do not feel they are tech-savvy. January’s topic will include “How to connect to Wi-Fi” and is perfect for those who have wanted to connect their phone or mobile device to a Wi-Fi network at home or their favorite coffee shop but aren’t sure how. Mak will carefully walk each participant through how to connect their particular device. There will also be opportunities for participants to ask questions. Mak will be available at the Milford Memorial Library from 2:00-3:00PM on Tuesday, Jan. 10.  Classes are free and seats are limited. Participants are asked to bring their mobile devices to class.
