Starting on Monday, March 16, 2020, Milford Memorial Library will be cancelling all Youth Programming for the rest of March and April. We hope to get back to a normal schedule full of exciting programs as soon as possible. Please stay up to date with all of Miss Becca’s Youth Programming and any other happenings through MML’s website (http://www.milford.lib.ia.us) and Facebook (@milfordlibrary). Milford Memorial Library News Milford Memorial Library would like to congratulate our Blind Date with a Book Winners. Our youth winner was Marie Laue and our adult winner was Sandy Heerdt. We would like to thank everyone who took part in this event. On Wednesday, March 18, at 5:30 p.m., join MML’s Director, Gillian, in creating a Hoop Wreath. The craft costs $5.00 per person. Registration is required and all materials will be provided by the library. The month of March is Read Across America month at the Milford Memorial Library. Starting Monday, March 2, through Tuesday, March 31, come in and pick-up an official Dr. Seuss Reading Passport at the library. You will be able to explore Dr. Seuss’s greatest titles and will be able to answer some questions. This event is perfect for Preschool through 4th Grade youth, prizes are awarded for a complete passport and a drawing at the end of the month. Monday, March 23rd, is the beginning of the MML’s Annual Easter contest. The coloring contest will run until Friday, April 3. The Easter Bunny Coloring contest is for Preschoolers through 4th grade youth. There will be prizes for the winners in various age groups (2-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-10) and all the pictures will be displayed in the library. MML’s Spring Egg Hunt will begin on Monday, March 23. This activity is for 4th Grade and up. Stop by the front desk to get a piece of paper featuring 12 different eggs with pictures from around our library. Then find and write down what and where those items are, and turn it in for a chance to win a prize. The hunt is over on Friday, April 3. Milford Memorial Library:Youth Corner Kiddos in Preschool-4th Grade are encouraged to pick up a Dr. Seuss Reading Passport at Milford Memorial Library. There will be Dr. Seuss prizes awarded for each completed passport and a drawing at the end of the month. This event will held throughout March. Afterschool Activity will be at 3:30 P.M. on Thursday, March 12. The activity will be iron on beads with the kiddos being able to make several of their own creations. There are no costs and no registration. Please stay up to date with all of Miss Becca’s Youth Programming through the MML website (http://www.milford.lib.ia.us) and Facebook (@milfordlibrary). .Milford Memorial Library News On Tuesday, March 10, at 3:30 p.m., 4th through 12th graders are invited to create a one-of-a-kind art piece. We will be melting crayons on to 5x7 canvases. Young adults will use painters tape to make various designs. There is no cost or preregistration for this program. All materials are provided by the library. Any interested individuals are welcome to join MML's Book Club on Tuesday, March 17, at 1:00 p.m. The featured book in March is Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. Copies of this book can be found in our library along with other local area book clubs. It is not necessary to attend all of the book club meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please. Miss Iowa 2019, Emily Tinsman, will be doing a musical storytime full of singing, dancing, stories, and a craft. This awesome opportunity is open to everyone at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 9.
