Did you miss Paint Night at the Library in August? Area libraries are sponsoring another Paint Night at the Library in October! Join area libraries on Tuesday, October 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Arnolds Park Library for a fun night of painting, community, and snacks! Register early because there are only 30 spots available. The cost for early registration is $7.50 and registration the day of the event is $15. Those interested can register at the Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, and the Milford Memorial Library. Attendees of any skill level are invited to recreate a beautiful painting by following step-by-step instructions from the artist who created the original painting. Participants will be painting on a 16 x 20 canvas and all the supplies are provided by the libraries. Mark your calendars for Paint Night at the Library! An open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library is held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm.  Agenda will be posted on the website and on the library's front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
Join Jeff Cookinham for a volunteer-led evening computer class on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30. Do you have questions about computers or need some help with something? Jeff will be here to answer all of your questions!

Area libraries are sponsoring Downstairs at Downtown, on Friday, September 23, at 2:00 p.m., at the Spirit Lake Public Library. Come listen to presenter and historian Kathy Wilson talk about what it took to run a house like Highclere Castle. A professional historian and educator, Kathy Wilson believes learning about the past can be fun as well as interesting. To prove that point, she draws on more than 20 years of experience to create programs that engage and entertain as well as educate her audiences.   Ms. Wilson received her BA in History from Bemidji State University in Minnesota, before traveling to England where she completed her Masters at the University of York.  She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Iowa and specializes in 18th and 19th-century British-American social history.  Her dissertation investigates the role of kinship networks in the social transformations of Catholic families, 1760-1850.

Calling all gamers in 5th– 8th grades! Video Games Day is happening on Monday, September 12, starting at 3:30 p.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. in the Milford Memorial Library. Come play Wii and Xbox games provided by Exile Gaming in Milford.
               
If you are in preschool through 4th grade and need something to do after school on Thursday, September 8, stop by the library. Join Betty Naab, our children’s librarian, as she hosts the after school craft party. The theme this month is "Friends."

The Milford Memorial Library Adult Craft Series is back! Join MML director Beth Sorenson for "5 minute microwave Apple Cinnamon Crumble" on Wednesday, September 14, from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m., at the library. Registration for this event is required and the cost to participate is $2. Contact the library for more information.
