An open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library is held the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 pm.  Agenda will be posted on the website and on the library's front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.

On Thursday, July 27, 5th – 12th grade students are invited to come to the Milford Memorial Library for a service project. We will be making pet toys out of old t-shirts to donate. All supplies are provided by the library at no charge to the students.

The Friends of the Milford Memorial Library are excited to bring the Hanson Family Juggling and Unicycle Show to Milford on Tuesday, July 18. The Hanson Family Jugglers will be performing two free shows on July 18. The first show will be held at the Milford Memorial Library at 10 a.m. The second show will be at the Old High School Gym at 7 p.m. following the celebration at Union Memorial Church. This show is part of the City of Milford’s Pioneer Days and 125th Celebration.

All 5th - 12th grade students are invited to unleash their inner artist. Come to the Milford Memorial Library on Thursday, July 13, at 1:00 p.m. Learn how to create 3D chalk art on the sidewalk in front of the library. All materials are provided at no cost to the students.

The Milford Memorial Library is excited to announce that Caroline Perkins and her dog, Hank, will be available to listen to stories the second Saturday of each month starting Saturday, July 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.! Caroline and Hank are a therapy dog team, licensed by the Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program. In the past they worked for 5 years in Cable, WI, as part of the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D) program. Prior to the R.E.A.D. program Caroline was a Special Education Teacher. Hank is a great listener and loves to listen to all kinds of stories. Children who are beginner readers or just want a chance to improve on reading aloud are encouraged to come read to Hank. Children can read to Hank on a first come, first serve basis. The amount of time a child will get to read to Hank is determined by the length of the book, child’s reading level, and the number of children waiting to read to Hank.

If you are in 3rd or 4th grade and you like to create with your hands and use your brain, the Constructors Club is for you! We’ll have fun while constructing something different each month. Come to the library Saturday, July 8, at 11:00 a.m., and prepare to make plant prints with hammers. Don’t forget to bring your thinking cap! There is no cost and all materials are provided by the library.

Kindermusik is coming to Northwest Iowa!!! Kindermusik is an international award-winning, research-based music and movement program for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. And the best part is, Kindermusik will be located in our own backyard at the Pearson Lakes Art Center beginning in September 2017! To get a taste of what Kindermusik is all about and to meet educator Allison Antoine, come to the Milford library Friday, July 7 at 10:00 a.m. for music, dancing, activities, and a musical craft for your little ones to enjoy!
