We are sad to report that Grant the Library Dog passed away on Monday, July 1st. He was 12-years-old and had been ill for several months.
Grant was a certified therapy dog and began coming to the Milford Library with his owner, Special Projects Coordinator Aimee Clark during the Summer of 2009. Grant's job was to listen to children read. He was a reassuring, non-judgmental presence. He snuggled in close while he listened. Many struggling readers gained confidence and skill while reading to him.
Aimee obtained Grant as a 9-week-old puppy. They had many adventures together, including competing in dog shows, moving across the country, and the addition of a husband and child. Grant is missed dearly by the Clark family as well as the members of the Milford Library.
