2023 Summer Reading Kick-Off Celebration on Thursday, June 1, at the Milford Pioneer Theatre. There will be a free showing of Trolls at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Bring two non-perishable food items and receive a FREE popcorn. Other concession items will be available. Summer Reading Program information will be available.
Milford Memorial Library’s 2023 Young Adult Summer Reading Challenge will run Thursday, June 1, through Friday, August 4. Fourth through twelfth graders will fill in a square for every 15 minutes they read or listen to an audiobook. Once completed, return your bookmark to MML for a small portable charger with flashlight and to be placed into a larger prize drawing. Make sure to write your first and last name and phone number on the back. Young Adults may pick up another bookmark to get more entries into the larger prize, but will only receive one charger.
The Milford Memorial Library will have an Adult Summer Reading Program again this year! All you have to do is pick up a bookmark at the library and fill it out throughout the summer. You can bring the bookmark back to the library or log your reading online anytime between June 1 and August 7 for prizes. The Adult Summer Reading Program activities include the Adult Craft Series, Paint Night at the Library, and Community Connections events throughout June and July. We encourage you to use the library in many different ways.
Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Library, and Spirit lake Library are bringing back the Young Adult Summer Subscription Boxes. Inside each box, fourth through twelfth graders will find activities, a reading list, a playlist, and a recipe. Only 50 boxes will be available, so registration is required. To register you may call MML, Arnolds Park Library, or the Spirit Lake Library. Subscription Box dates and activities are:
Summer Subscription Box 1: Tuesday, June 6- Friday, June 16: DIY Wreck It Journal and a Duct Tape Flower Pen
Summer Subscription Box 2: Tuesday, June 20- Friday, June 30: Design a Flower Pot and Plant Succulents
Summer Subscription Box 3: Tuesday, July 11 – Friday, July 21: String Art and DIY Wood Stain

Miss Becca, with the Milford Memorial Library, will be making classroom visits this week to share summer reading excitement with the kiddos. She will also be emailing a variety of informational items to the OES secretary and teachers to then be forwarded onto the families.
Summer reading will begin at the Kick Off Celebration on Thursday, June 1. There will be two free showings of the movie Trolls at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. All three local libraries, Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park, and Milford, will have information about their own programming in addition to our joint programming.
