Do you like scary movies? If yes, MML’s YA What Lurks in the Dark Subscription Box is for you. You will receive materials to complete three horrifying activities: design a Mutant Toy, Jeepers Creepers Peepers, and The Blob Soap. For extra chills check out the disturbing playlist and book recommendations. Top off the activity with a grotesque recipe. They’re here starting on Tuesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m., and ending on Friday, August 7, at 5:00 p.m. So don’t get caught without one! When you sign up, please tell us how you want to receive your box. Your choices are the following: pick up at Milford Memorial Library, Arnolds Park Public Library, or have it delivered to your home.
Join Milford Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program: Quaranteened Edition. During the summer, Young Adults will need to earn 5,000 points to complete the YA Summer Reading Program. They are able to earn points by reading, finding secret codes, and completing activities. Some of the activities include doing something nice for someone, completing Subscription Box activities, doing something fun and nostalgic from their childhood, writing someone else’s life story, and more. Each time they complete a level, they will earn a badge, prizes, and a raffle ticket toward the end of Summer Reading Program prize. Young Adults (4th-12th grade) can sign up by going online to bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net, through paper logs available at the library, by calling (712) 338-4643, or emailing milfordlibrary51351@gmail.com. Get ready to have some fun with MML’s 2020 Summer Reading: Quaranteened Edition! We would like to thank the Friends of the Memorial Library for sponsoring this amazing program.
Join us on Zoom at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, for a Paint by Number Night! Contact the library at (712) 338-4643 to pre-register and the cost is $5.00. Pick up your Paint by Number kit on Friday, July 24, Monday, July 27, or Tuesday, July 28, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and you can pay when you pick up your kit. All kits include an 8 x 10 numbered canvas, paint, paint brush, and instructions. You can do this kit on your own or you can join us on Zoom on Tuesday, July 28, from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. to participate as a group or ask any questions.
The Milford Memorial Library has an Adult Summer Reading Program again this year! All you have to do is pick up a bookmark at the library and fill it out throughout the summer or participate on bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net. You can bring the bookmark back to the library or log your reading online anytime between June 1 and Labor Day (September 7) for prizes. The Adult Summer Reading Program activities include the Adult Craft Series and Paint by Number Nights throughout July and August. We encourage you to use the library in many different ways.
If you have materials to print, please email us at milfordlibrary51351@gmail.com. You may pick up your printing during the drive-up hours. Normal printing prices apply ($0.25 for black and white per page and $0.50 for color per page). We are currently not copying or sending faxes.
Check out MML’s drive-up window hours! Reserves may be picked-up on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. You may reserve materials by using MML’s online catalog, calling (712) 338-4643, or emailing milfordlibrary51351@gmail.com. Our drive-up window is on the east side (closest to Highway 71) right before our drop box.
Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
Even though weekly summer programming has concluded, youth can still earn an SRP yard sign and a bag full of prizes through the end of August at the Milford Memorial Library. We have plenty of fun themed items and coupons to local businesses. Plus every time a kiddo completes the three levels (BookPoints or paper form), s/he is entered in a large prize drawing. So keep working hard by continuing to read those books and completing some engaging activities!
Please let Miss Becca know if you would like her to pick out some books for your kiddos and family. We have new books coming in each week, as well as some other oldies, but goodies on the shelves.
