
You are invited to Community Connections the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Join us on Thursday, September 21, at 10:30 a.m., at the library. This month’s program will be with Mary from Dickinson County Museum. Community Connections is open to adults wanting to learn and socialize. Coffee and refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Milford Library. This is a free program and attendees are encouraged to socialize after presentations. Bring your questions!
On Tuesday, October 3, at 7:00p.m., in the Milford Community Center, join author James Kenyon for his presentation Echoes in the Hallways, a historical account of the former high schools of our area. James traveled for over 18 months to all of Iowa’s 99 counties and a story from each county is told in this book. This program will focus on the local high schools of NW Iowa, as well as, other fascinating stories learned during his travels. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Library, Friends of the Arnolds Park Library, and the Friends of the Spirit Lake Public Library.
Join us on Tuesday, September 27, at 7:00 p.m., at the Arnolds Park Library, for a fun night of painting, fellowship, and snacks provided by the three local libraries. We will be painting fall or Halloween themed round door signs. All of the supplies will be provided by the libraries. Pre-register at the Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, or the Milford Memorial Library. The cost is $15.00. Registrants will need to pay prior to the event to secure their spot. Milford Memorial Library is partnering with ISU Extension and Outreach Dickinson County for these Preserve the Taste of Summer Workshops! On September 27, at 5 p.m., join us for Pickle Making and Pickled Products. If you relish a jar of homemade pickles, come experience the joy of pickle making in this hands-on-workshop. MML’s Young Adult Food Truck Challenge Box will be leaving the parking lot on Friday, September 22. This is still time to register your fourth through twelfth graders for this free activity. Come join the spooky fun throughout October at Milford Memorial Library. We have two Building Bookworms (storytime) at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, October 16 and 30.
Then in between those dates, we have Minds in Motion (sensory play) at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, October 2 and 23.
Lastly, we have one more program called Afterschool Adventures (small group). This is at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 12.
