Milford Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, October 9, in observance of Columbus Day. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, October 10, at 9:30 a.m.
MML’s Young Adult Monster Key Chain Challenge Box is will be stomping around from Tuesday, October 10, through Friday, October 20. Fourth through twelfth graders will be creating a monster with a block of wood, paint, and screws. This is a free program, but registration is required. On Tuesday, October 17, at 1:00 p.m., join MML’s Open Book Discussion Group to discuss the featured book Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Copies can be found at the library. It is not necessary to attend all of the meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Milford Memorial Library is partnering with ISU Extension and Outreach Dickinson County for these Preserve the Taste of Summer Workshops! On October 18, at 5 p.m., join us for Jam Making and Dehydrating. You’ll learn safe methods to preserve jams and dehydrate foods in this “jam” session and take home the fruit of your labors. This class is free for participants. Register contact ISU Extension and Outreach Dickinson County, at 712-336-3438, for more information.
Everyone is welcome to Community Connections on the third Thursday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Join us on Thursday, October 19, at 10:30 a.m., at the library. This month Erin Reed from Dickinson County Trails will join us. Community Connections is open to adults wanting to learn and socialize. Coffee and refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Milford Library. This is a free program and attendees are encouraged to socialize after presentations. Bring your questions!

Welcome to October library friends! We have new book displays, decorations, and youth programs. The librarians are so excited to see your faces! Please mark us down on your calendar for Building Bookworms (storytime), Afterschool Adventures (small group fun), and Minds in Motion (sensory play). Building Bookworms is at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, October 16 (fire safety) and 30 (monsters), Afterschool Adventures is at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 12 (Halloween BINGO), and Minds in Motion is at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays, October 2 and 23.
Also this month, Miss Becca is starting various library visits from Head Start through 2nd Grade and spreading library love to four local daycares. For those families who registered for Clover Kids, it begins at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 19.
