On Wednesday, October 19, Milford Memorial Library will be closed for staff development. We look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, October 20, at 9:30 a.m.
Join MML for our Adult Craft Series as we make a Halloween Wood Décor. This craft will be kit only and will include wood, paint, stencils, gauze and instructions. The cost for this craft is $5.00 and registration is required. You can register by contacting the Milford Memorial Library or online by going to http://milfordlibrary.weebly.com/adult-program-registration.html.
There is still time for fourth through twelfth graders to register for the Young Adult A Horror of a Challenge Box. This box is filled with free activities, but does require registration. It will slink back into the dark on Friday, October 21, at 5:30 p.m. To register call the library or online at http://milfordlibrary.weebly.com/young-adult-registration.html
Any interested individuals are welcome to join MML's Book Club on Tuesday, October 18, at 1:00 p.m. The featured book, Rebecca by Daphne De Maurier, can be found in our library. We will also be showing the 1940 film of Rebecca directed by Alfred Hitchcock after the book discussion. It is not necessary to attend all of the meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
The People’s Law Library of Iowa is a new online resource that provides easy to understand information on some of Iowa’s laws. The website includes information on consumer law, family law, and landlord/tenant law, as well as guidance on researching legal issues, a glossary or more than 100 legal terms, and more.
This new resource is made possible by the State Library’s portion of the American Rescue Plan Act and the University of Iowa Law Library who gathered the content while the State Library provided administrative support and contracting for the website. This partnership has been extended to allow The People’s Law Library website to grow with additional information.
Inviting all ghosts, ghouls, goblins, superheroes, and creatures alike! Stop by the Milford Memorial Library on Monday, October 31, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., to pick up some treats and show off your awesome costume.

Have you explored the Youth page on Milford Memorial Library’s website? Type your way on over to milford.lib.ia.us/youth to see new books, monthly book displays, posters, and other information. Also, feel free to take a look at the Students page that is under the ‘Use Our Library’ tab. If you have any good recommendations for the Youth or Elementary pages, please send an email to beccas@milford.lib.ia.us.
Of course, don’t forget there are three community youth programs in October. They are Afterchool Activity: Halloween BINGO at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, Building Bookworms: Space at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 17, and Building Bookworms: Halloween at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 24.
