Milford Memorial Library will be closed Thursday, November 25, and Friday, November 26, to celebrate Thanksgiving. We hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, November 30th, for the start of Festival of Wreaths voting.
New this year! the Milford Memorial Library is hosting the Festival of Wreaths for Milford’s Holiday Fantasy. Wreaths can be brought to the library Monday, November 16, - Wednesday, November 25. Festival of Wreaths voting will be Monday, November 30, - Friday, December 4. Awards this year are for best personal/family, best organization, best business, most creative, and librarian's choice. Join us on Tuesday, November 24, for a Paint Night! Contact the library at (712) 338-4643 to pre-register and the cost is $5. Pick up your Paint Night Kit on Friday, November 20, Monday, November 23, or Tuesday, November 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and pay when you pick up your kit. All kits includes a canva, paint, paint brush, and instructions. You can do this kit on your own and a special video link will be provided for visual instructions. Tuesday, November 24, is the last day to register for MML’s Free YA Subscription Box: The Root of Gratitude and Wednesday, November 25, will be the last day to pick up.
Check out MML’s drive-up window hours! Reserves may be picked up Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. You may reserve materials by using MML’s online catalog, calling (712) 338-4643, or emailing milfordlibrary51351@gmail.com. Our drive-up window is on the east of the library (closest to Highway 71) and right before our drop box.
If you have materials to print, please email milfordlibrary51351@gmail.com. You may pick up your printing during our drive-up hours. Normal printing prices apply ($0.25 for black and white per page and $0.50 for color per page).
Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
The last November Grab and Go Bag and Books at Milford Memorial Library will go out over the next two weeks (Nov. 16-30). The theme is Mo Willems’s pigeon character. The craft is a cute handprint pigeon made out of various colors of construction paper and a googly eye. Miss Becca has also pulled a bunch of books that feature the crazy pigeon that you can read with your kiddos over Thanksgiving Break. Depending on the weather, the 30 bags can be found out front on Mondays and the Drive-up Window the rest of the week. Feel free to call or email Miss Becca to reserve a bag (338-4643, beccas@milford.lib.ia.us).
Lastly, get excited because December Grab and Go Bags and Books are in the works, and they will be on the themes of Santa (craft: toilet paper roll Santa searcher) and cookies (craft: Cookie Monster cut out).
