Wednesday, May 18, at 6:30 p.m., local author Diana Koppen will be at the Milford Memorial Library presenting on her book Breaking Free From Rigid Boxes. The presentation will include an overview of Marion Helland’s 90 years. Diana will also be bringing “artifacts” and copies of her book to sign.
MML’s Young Adult Subscription Box: Star Wars will have fourth through twelfth graders making Strom Trooper beaded keychain and learning how to draw Darth Vader, Yoda, and BB-8. This subscription box is free, but does require registration. Register by calling 712-338-4346 or online at

MML’s book club, the Open Book Discussion Group, invites any interested individuals to come and discuss the featured book, And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, on Tuesday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m. Copies can be found at the library. It is not necessary to attend all of the meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Wednesday, May 18, is Open Craft Night! This Adult Craft Night will be a kit only event. Participants will be able to sign-up for available crafts including a Painted Popsicle Sign, Halloween Ribbon Wreath and Clay Jewelry. The cost is $5.00 per kit and registration is required. Arnolds Park Library and Milford Memorial Library invite fourth through twelfth graders to Y.A.D.O. (Young Adults Day Off) on Thursday, May 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Milford Memorial Library. We will be watching Call of the Wild and painting a landscape on an animal cutout.
