Fourth through twelfth graders are invited to join MML and the Milford Scouts on Tuesday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the library, as we complete activities based off of the popular I Survived book series by Lauren Tarshis. This a is free program and registration is not required, but is encouraged. Register by calling 712-338-4643 or emailing [email protected].
On Tuesday, July 18, at 1:00 p.m., MML’s Open Book Discussion Group, will be discussing the featured book, The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn. Any interested individuals may find a copy at the library. It is not necessary to attend all of the meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Join MML for our Adult Craft Series as we make a Mini Rope Basket on Wednesday, July 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Milford Memorial Library. The cost for this craft is $5.00 and registration is required. You can register by contacting the Milford Memorial Library or online by going to http://milfordlibrary.weebly.com/adult-program-registration.html.
Join other volunteers and the library staff for book sale set-up beginning at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 20, with pizza and a potluck to follow. Once everything is in place, let the shopping begin. Volunteers will get to shop early. Please let the library know if you plan to volunteer.
The Friends of the Milford Library are also in need of volunteers to work the book sale. Some extra help will be needed after the book sale on Saturday to clean up. For more information or to confirm your participation, please contact Milford Memorial Library at 712-338-4643 or [email protected].
At 8:30 p.m., on Friday, July 20, join MML at Florence Park for Movie Night in the Park. Everyone is welcome to watch the showing of Disney’s Encanto. Movie Night in the Park is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Library.
Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
It is crazy to believe that we are already in July, and our summer programs are coming to an end soon. Check out what we have left at the Milford Memorial Library. First, we have Building Bookworms at 10:30 a.m. this Thursday, July 6. We are so excited to have Miss Holly from the Pearson Lakes Art Center take kiddos through the process of making painted paper bugs. Then Miss Becca will be in charge for the last two programs. The first will be Minds in Motion (sensory play) at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 10, and Building Bookworms: My, Myself, and I at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13. The interactive craft for this storytime will be an express yourself poster. Lastly, our End Celebration for those who have completed the reading-activity portion will be from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, at Bouncelandia in Milford. The deadline is Friday, July 14. All other prizes (without Bouncelandia) can be earned until Friday, August 4.
