The Friends of the Milford Memorial Library’s Book Sale will be open on Thursday, July 25, 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 26, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 27, 9:00 a.m. – Noon. The Book Sale offers a variety of items for all individuals at great prices. All of the proceeds go to the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library. This group is a non-profit organization that helps support the Milford Memorial Library through volunteering and financial assistance. On Friday, July 26, celebrate Pioneer Day’s with MML by watching a 2:00 p.m. showing of Won’t You Be My Neighbor. The movie will be shown in the west room of the Milford Community Center and everyone is invited. This movie, as well as refreshments, will be provided by the library.
Friday, July 26, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., MML’s Photo Booth will be in Florence Park to commemorate Pioneer Days 2019. A free will donation will be accepted that day.
Join the Okoboji Summer Theater’s Boji Bantam and the Milford Library on Saturday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. in Florence Park for a special Story Time in the Park. Members from the production The Ugly Duckling will be telling stories and be available for pictures after the performance. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library.
On Tuesday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m., MML invites everyone to a free showing of Guardians of the Galaxy. Popcorn and water will be provided by the library. There is no pre-registration for this event.
You have been abducted by aliens and are now aboard their spaceship! You’re only chance for survival is escape. The Milford Memorial Library will be running an escape room all day on Wednesday, July 31. Stop by or call the library to reserve a time slot. Groups of 2 – 6 people can be in the escape room at one time. If you don’t have a group and would still like to sign up, we can add you to another group. There are only seven time slots available and each time slot is one hour. Please register before the day of the event. This program is offered at no charge to the participants and everything is provided by the Milford Memorial Library.
Youth and Young Adult Summer Reading Logs will be due on Friday, August 16, at 5:00 p.m. Announcements of winners will be made shortly after.
MML's Youth Corner
Milford Memorial Library will continue to have Public Playdates at 10:00 a.m. every Monday until August 12. Some other library programs coming up are Book Buddies at 9:30 a.m. on August 2, 9, and 16, ISU Extension and Outreach at 10:00 a.m. on August 2, Dickinson County Nature Center at 10:00 a.m. on August 9, and Building Bookworms: A Sky Full of Stories at 10:00 a.m. on August 16. All of these programs are free and open to everyone.
Lastly, please don’t forget that Reading Logs can still be filled out and returned for some awesome prizes until Friday, August 16.
