Want to shop the Friends of the Milford Library’s Book Sale early? Join library staff and other volunteers as we set-up at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, July 20, with a potluck to follow. Once everything is in place, let the shopping begin. Please let the library know if you plan to volunteer.
The Friends of the Milford Library are also looking for volunteers to work the book sale. Some extra help will be needed after the book sale on Saturday, July 22, to clean up. The Friends of the Milford Memorial Library Foundation Book Sale will be held in the East Community Center Room.
Hours are the following:
Thursday, July 20, from 2:00 p.m. -5:00p.m.
Friday, July 21, from 9:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 22, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
The book sale offers a variety of items for all individuals at great prices. All of the proceeds go to the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library. This group is a non-profit organization that helps support the Milford Memorial Library through volunteering and financial assistance. “We don’t talk about Bruno”, but MML is talking about Movie Night in the Park, on Friday, July 20. Starting at 8:30 p.m., Disney’s Encanto will be showing at Florence Park. This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Library.
Join MML’s Open Book Discussion Group on Tuesday, July 18, at 1:00 p.m., as they discuss the featured book, The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn. Any interested individuals may find a copy at the library. It is not necessary to attend all of the meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Join MML for our Adult Craft Series as we make a Mini Rope Basket on Wednesday, July 19, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Milford Memorial Library. The cost for this craft is $5.00 and registration is required. You can register by contacting the Milford Memorial Library or online by going to http://milfordlibrary.weebly.com/adult-program-registration.html.
All Milford Memorial Library Summer Reading Logs are due on Friday, August 4.
Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
It is sad to say, but this is Milford Memorial Library’s last full week of summer reading. The first program is with the local libraries at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. We will be hosting the cartoonist, Tim Read, and his Silly Library Monsters program.
The second program is Building Bookworms at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, with Miss Becca at the library. This storytime will celebrate the kids with the craft being an express yourself poster.
The entire summer program will wrap up with an End Celebration from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. Don’t forget to bring your library ticket! The deadline for Bouncelandia is Friday, July 14, and all other prizes (without Bouncelandia) can be earned until Friday, August 4.
Also, a quick side note to keep in mind is that Miss Becca will have another summer of ‘Read with Miss Becca’ from August 1-18. These are casual times where the kiddos can read and practice their literacy skills before school starts in the following weeks.
