Last chance to find a hidden gem and enter the drawing. Blind Date with a Book will end on Monday, February 28. All book titles and descriptions are hidden. Only the books genre is shown. After you read the book, complete the provided bookmark and return it to be placed into the drawing. There will be a prize for adults and for children. All bookmarks must be turned in before the library opens on Tuesday, March 1.
On Wednesday, March 9, at 5:30 p.m., an open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will take place in the Milford Community Center. The agenda will be posted on MML’s website and front bulletin board 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend and offer their thoughts in order to make MML a better library.

Important to stay focused during the last stretch? For free live tutoring and study techniques, checkout Brainfuse by HelpNow. This program is free and provided by local libraries and the State Library of Iowa.
Go to MML’s homepage, www.milford.lib.ia.us. On the left-hand side, in the blue column, hover over “Use Our Library” and click “Do Research”. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click on the “Brainfuse HelpNow” icon. The Brainfuse page will pull up. By creating a free account, your student will be able to save past work, access tutor sessions, and receive personalized lessons.
JobNow is a free service to help with the job-hunting process. Job seekers can receive feedback on their resumes, participate in job coaching, and even receive guidance in the unemployment process.
To access this program, you will need a library card that is in good standing. Go to MML’s website, www.milford.lib.ia.us and click on “Search Our Catalog”. In the top right-hand corner, enter in your library card number and your password. Click “Log In”. Once logged in, under the “Electronic Resources” column, scroll down until you find “Brainfuse JobNow” and click on the icon. A new page will appear and you will click on the link saying “Click here to visit Brainfuse JobNow”. Create an account to be able to save your work on resumes, job searches, and personalized coaching.
Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
We had a great crowd last week at Milford Memorial Library’s Building Bookworms: Dinosaurs. For this theme, Miss Becca read two dinosaur stories, everyone danced like dinosaurs and counted up to 10 with different kinds of them, and lastly the kiddos made their own dinosaur mask and feet. Everyone was also able to take home a toy squirting dinosaur/dragon. Thank you so much to all of the families for coming to MML’s storytime and making our library a place to be during your day.
As February wraps up, Miss Becca has one more program. It will be another Building Bookworms, and it will focus on teeth. It will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 28, at MML. The craft will be a marshmallow mouth, and there will also be a special surprise for the kiddos from two local dentists.
