On Thursday, August 6, 5th – 12th grade students are invited to come to the Milford Memorial Library to make comic book flower pots. All supplies are provided by the library at no charge to the students. In addition, on Tuesday, August 18, we are excited to welcome Karess Knudtson, Dickinson County naturalist and environmental educator, as a presenter for the Teen Summer Reading Program.
The Milford Memorial Library staff and the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library would like to thank everyone who volunteered and came to the annual book sale. The book sale was a big success and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year. Thank you also to the Okoboji Summer Theatre director and student actresses who came to Pioneer Days for Story Time in the Park and to everyone who came to Story Time in the Park to enjoy the story of Rapunzel and games.
An open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will be held Wednesday, August 5, at 5:30 p.m. A free computer class will be led by Jeff Cookinham after the meeting.
Jump Start to Reading is an opportunity for children to read to adults one-on-one on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Registration forms are available at the circulation desk at the library. Adult volunteers may contact children’s librarian Betty Naab at 712-338-4643 or [email protected].

Thursday, August 13, at 10 a.m., we will be looking for our Shelf Elves. Volunteers take on the task of organizing and cleaning a section of shelves. This helps our librarians and it will make sure you can find the book you are looking for that might have otherwise been misplaced.
