Want library material, but lacking time to come in and browse? At your convenience, browse and reserve materials on MML’s online catalog. Go to milford.lib.ia.us and click on the “Search Our Catalog” and login with your card number and password/phone number. You will be notified when your reserves are ready. Preserving your own foods can be a lot quicker and easier than you might think. It’s a great way to have delicious, local food all year long. Three free hands-on workshops in September offer you the opportunity to learn safe food preservation techniques.
September 13: Salsa Making Basics: Take home a jar of salsa you preserved using the hot water bath canning method after learning safe methods! Homemade deliciousness in a jar!
September 20: Jam Making and Dehydrating: You’ll learn safe methods to preserve jams and dehydrate foods in this ‘jam’ session and take home the fruit of your labors!
September 27: Pickle Making and Pickled Products: If you relish a jar of homemade pickles, come experience the joy of pickle making in this hands-on workshop.

Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
This is the last week to complete your Youth Reading-Activity Log as it is due to the Milford Memorial Library by the end of Friday, August 5. All prizes will be available for kiddos to pick up the following week. Finish strong readers!

MML has a special announcement that we will be doing a Building Bookworms at the upcoming Okoboji Blue Water Festival. The storytime is at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, in the Youth Area by Bob’s Dogs at Preservation Plaza. Mark those calendars!
