The Friends of the Milford Memorial Library’s annual book sale is Friday, July 22, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Saturday, July 23, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The book sale is located in the east side of the Milford Community Center. The Milford Memorial Library has been accepting donations of books for the past year and has a wide selection of gently used books for sale. The costs for books is .50 cents for paperback books and children’s books and $1 for adult hardcover books. Shoppers can fill a bag for $1 between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. All proceeds go to the Friends of the Milford Library to support the work they do for the library. Stop by the Milford Community Center during Pioneer Days to see a variety of westerns, children’s classics, current titles, non-fiction books, and many more! Volunteers who set up on Thursday, July 21, at 5:30 p.m., for the book sale will get to enjoy a potluck and shop the book sale early.
Join cast members from Stephens College’s Boji Bantam Theatre and the Milford Memorial Library on Saturday, July 23, in Milford’s Florence Park, at 1:00 p.m., for Story Time in the Park. Come listen to an enchanting story told by well-known characters. This program is open and free to the public. Story Time in the Park is sponsored by the Friends of the Milford Memorial Library.
Jump Start to Reading is an opportunity for children to read to adults one-on-one on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Registration forms are available at the circulation desk at the library.
