Here are the step by step instructions on how to make a fabric bookmark.
Step 1: Cut your pattern. The pattern should be 7 x 2.5. Step 2: Pin your pattern to the fabric and cut. Step 3: Make sure to cut out two pieces of fabric that are the same size. Step 4: Pin wrong sides together and sew a 1/4 inch seam all the way around your bookmark. Don't forget to back stitch at the begining and end. Step 5: How to make the pom pom. Start by putting the end of the yarn over two fingers and continue wrapping the yarn around your fingers. The more yarn you wrap the fuller the pom pom will be. Step 6: Cut another small piece of yarn to wrap around the bundle on your fingers. Step 7: Feed the small piece of yarn through your fingers and tie it around the bundle. Step 8: Take the yarn off your fingers and cut the loops of yarn. Step 9: Spread out the yarn to form your pom pom. Step 10: Hand sew the pom pom on to your bookmark and then you are done! |
Whala! You made your own fabric bookmark. If you decide to make your own from these instructions we would love to see them! Tag us in your post or stop by the library to show us!
