Borrowing Library Materials
Library materials are available to the public without consideration of any protected status. The following policies apply to items borrowed from the Milford Library:
No fines are charged on library materials returned past due (up to 60 days). Items returned after 60 days overdue are addressed in a separate policy.
- Books: 2 weeks
- Audio Tapes & CDs: 2 weeks
- Music CDs: 2 weeks
- Puzzles: 2 weeks
- Current magazines issues: In-house use only.
- Past magazine issues: 2 weeks
- Videos / DVDs / Bluerays: 3 days
- Cake Pans: 3 days

- Patrons may request to be placed on reserve for a specific item and library staff will contact the patron when the item becomes available to them.
- Items may be renewed up to two times unless a reserve has been placed on the item.
- After two renewals, patrons must return the item to the library, but can then re-check the item out if necessary.
- Renewals, reminders, warnings, and overdues may be requested via phone, text, email or any contact method accepted by the library.
Borrowing From Another Library
(Also known as Interlibrary loan, Ill, or silo)
Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state and nation. If you can't find an item in this library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

- We charge $1.00 each for processing of ILL items. If your item is unavailable, you will be given the opportunity to transfer that dollar to another item.
- The lending library determines the loan period. If you are unable to finish the item by the due date, please contact us prior to that date and we can request an extension from the lending library.
- If an item is new (within the last 6 months) and we believe it might have appeal to other patrons we will consider purchasing the item for our collection.
- Patrons are responsible for damage or loss caused while InterLibrary Loan items are checked out to them.
