On Monday, September 5, Milford Memorial Library will be closed in observance of Labor Day. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, September 6, at 9:30 a.m. Have a happy and safe weekend.
Author Linda McCann is coming to the Milford Memorial Library on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 6:30 PM.
McCann will share about her book, Civilian Conservation Corps. She will be reading from her book and sharing stories from personal interviews. There will also be time for questions and books will be available for purchase. The Civilian Conservation Corps was a federal program to assist young men in supporting their families. Most Iowans know about all the work done in our state parks, but that was only 25 percent of what they worked on. Most of their work projects dealt with soil erosion, flood and drought prevention and planting trees. She is still working on the western part of the state, so she welcomes anyone who was in the CCC contacting her. This event is free to the public and no registration is required to attend.
Fourth through twelfth graders may register now for the Young Adult September Challenge Box. The challenge is to plan, make a meal, and catch up with family and friends. This is a free program, but registration is required. Young adults may register by calling (712) 338-4643 or by emailing [email protected]. Subscription Boxes maybe picked up at the library.
On Wednesday, September 7, an open meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Milford Memorial Library will take place in the Milford Community Center. The agenda will be posted on MML’s website and front bulletin board at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend and offer their thoughts in order to make MML a better library
