Milford Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. We will be back on Tuesday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. We would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday.
The Milford Memorial Library has an Adult Summer Reading Program again this year! All you have to do is pick up a bookmark at the library and fill it out throughout the summer or participate on bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net. You can bring the bookmark back to the library or log your reading online anytime between June 1 and July 30 for prizes. The Adult Summer Reading Program activities include the Adult Craft Series and Paint Nights in July. We encourage you to use the library in many different ways.
It is hard to believe, MML’s Summer Reading programs are half way over. There is still time to sign up and earn points. Register on bookpoints, bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net, or stop in the library to register. Logs will be accepted until Friday, July 30, for all programs.
Leigh Hunt once said, “Colors are Nature’s Smile.” This could be why we smile and relax when we are in nature. The Young Adult Summer Reading Program Subscription Box: Nature’s Smile will bring you a little bit of this enjoyment from Tuesday, June 29, through Friday, July 9. Featured activities will have you going out into nature to collect flowers and leaves to make a lantern, water coloring a canvas pencil bag, and growing a do-it-yourself chia pet. Mother Nature will welcome you to enjoy a book from our reading list or listen to our playlist. There might be a day you are not able to go outside, you will be able to enjoy the to-watch list and enjoy the recipe included in this box. This nature-packed box is free and young adults can register by signing up for Summer Reading Program: Reading Colors Your World at https://bookpoints.milfordlibrary.net/, by emailing [email protected], calling 712-338-4643, emailing Arnolds Park Public Library, [email protected] or by calling 712-332-2033. When registering, please state which library you will be picking up your subscription box.

Milford Memorial Library: Youth Corner
The 2021 Summer Reading Program is going well at Milford Memorial Library, and we would love for you to join us this week for some more family fun programs. On Tuesday, June 29, Facebook Fun will be on the topic of reading colors yourself. To be entered in a prize drawing, kiddos can describe what is special about themselves. At 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, at MML’s east parking lot, Sidewalk Shenanigans will involve outside games. Then at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 1, at Florence Park, we will have the talented performer and singer, Mr. Stinky Feet. He is definitely a hoot and will bring the laughs. There will be no Building Bookworms on Friday, and any leftover craft bags will be set out on Monday. The public is welcome to take as many bags as they want for the kiddos.
