Even during this crazy summer, you found the time to read, support local businesses, and enjoy the Milford Memorial Library. Join us in 2025 for Summer Reading: Level Up at Your Library!
Join MML for CrAFTER Hours as we make Felted Wool Dryer Balls on Wednesday, August 21, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The cost for this craft is $10.00 and registration is required. You can register by contacting Milford Memorial Library or online by going to http://milfordlibrary.weebly.com/adult-program-registration.html.
The Milford Library Book Club will discuss the classic Animal Farm by George Orwell Tuesday, August 20, at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to this public book club and it is not necessary to attend all of the book meetings.
Friday, August 23, is the last day for the Reading with Miss Becca. Parents/ Guardians may sign their children up by calling Milford Memorial Library at 712-338-4643. Youth may bring their own book, or pick one out from MML’s shelves.
Writing a resume or prepping for an interview, Brainfuse JobNow is a valuable online resource. JobNow provides live job coaching, curated resumes resources, interview preparation and practices, and an Adult Learning Center. In the Adult Learning Center, users can access test prep for the High School Equivalency and the US Citizenship tests, practice for Microsoft Office, and more.
The State Library of Iowa also provides a free online resource for U.S. Veterans called Brainfuse VetNow. This resource offers tailored support for veterans and their families. It includes Live support with a veteran navigator, assistance navigating the VA and benefits veterans are eligible for from local, state, and federal programs. They also provide help with transitioning to civilian employment including skills and college preparations.
Users may access these free online resources by going to Milford Memorial Library’s website, www.milford.lib.ia.us or by stopping in to use a computer or Wi-Fi and MML. The State of Iowa Library provides Brainfuse JobNow and VetNow at no cost to Iowa public and academic libraries through a state appropriation from Iowa Workforce Development.
