Milford Memorial Library’s Children and Young Adult Summer Reading Programs have officially concluded. We are so proud of everyone who participated! Congratulations on completing reading goals throughout the summer! The drawing for larger prizes happened last week and we want to thank everyone for an amazing summer. A huge thank you to all the sponsors of the Children’s Summer Reading Program, the list can be found on our website, and another enormous thank you to the Friends of the Milford Library Foundation for their sponsorship of the Young Adult Summer Reading Program.
Milford Memorial Library’s CrAFTER Hours! Join us on Wednesday, August 19, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. for Stamped (Sprayed) Edging on Books. Cost for registration is $5. Call Milford Memorial Library at (712) 338-4643 to register or go to the event on our Facebook page.
Join MML’s Book Club on them on Tuesday, August 18, at 1:00 p.m., to discuss A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. Copies can be found at Milford Memorial Library. It is not necessary to attend all of the book club meetings, and you are welcome to come and go as you please.
Milford Memorial Library’s Building Bookworms will be taking a short break. We will resume our weekly storytimes on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. in September. For information, keep an eye on MML’s website (milford.lib.ia.us), Facebook page, and newspapers.

New picture books (red) will have you helping a book believe in himself by reading The Shy Book by Howard Pearlstein, seeing what little owl he can do in Owl by Myself by Pete Oswald, and finding out what Herbie misses out on at school when he is sick by checking out A Day Off School by Oliver Jeffers.
In children’s chapter books (yellow), visit with Sophie Mouse and the Dragon Masters and explore the International Space Station.
Young Adults can go on an adventure with Sally looking for Jack Skellington in Shadow Over the Pumpkin Queen by Megan Shepherd.
Adults, MML added new titles from Jeffery Deaver, Shari Lapena, Kristin Harmel, Daniel Silva, Emily Griffin, and Elise Slivers.
