Congratulations to Milford Memorial Library’s Spring Egg Hunt Winner Elliana Antoine.
On Wednesday, April 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Milford Memorial Library will be hosting a Hot Air Balloon Presentation featuring private Hot Air Balloon Pilots Anne Susko and Eric Scheve. They will explain what drew them to hot air ballooning, information about ballooning equipment, and how it works. Attendees may also get a chance to look at their equipment. All ages are welcome to attend this free presentation. If you have any questions please contact the library calling 712-338-4643 or emailing info@milford.lib.ia.us.
Join us on Tuesday, April 26, at 7:00 p.m., at the Arnolds Park Library, for a fun night of painting, fellowship, and snacks provided by the three local libraries. Any skill level is invited to recreate a painting following step-by-step instruction. All of the supplies will be provided by the libraries. There are only 30 spots available so pre-register at the Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, or the Milford Memorial Library. The cost is $15 for registration. Would you listen to a book while you cook? Or on a run or any place having fun? Would you listen on a drive or doing the hand jive? If there is a yes, then be our guest at Milford Memorial Library to check out a Playaway.
A Playaway is an audiobook packaged into a small, simple to use device that has a AAA battery. Listeners will need a pair of corded head phones or use an aux cord in a vehicle or with a larger speaker. Users are able to speed up or slow down how fast the narrator is talking. They are able to move forward or backward by seconds or entire chapters. The choice is yours. Milford Memorial Library has a variety titles and interest levels of Playaways for our patrons to checkout. To view titles, go to the online catalog at www.milford.lib.ia.us or stop for a visit.

Miss Becca at Milford Memorial Library has one more storytime planned for April. This will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25, with the theme being caterpillars. Some May dates for your family calendar include two Building Bookworms (May 9-Flowers, May 23-Airplanes; both at 10:30 a.m.) and Afterschool Activity (May 12-Board games; 3:30 p.m.). Also, has your family been wondering what this summer’s reading program will look like at our library? Well, we are excited to announce that the three local libraries (Spirit Lake, Arnolds Park, and MML) are teaming up this summer, and we have so much planned for the kiddos. Check in with Miss Becca by stopping by the library, giving her a call (338-4643), or sending an email (beccas@milford.lib.ia.us) to find out more information.
