
All 5th-12th grade students are invited to come to the library for dessert building on Thursday, June 15, at 1:00 p.m. Learn how you can make your desert building stand on its own and then get to eat it. All supplies for the Summer Reading Program are provided by the Friends of the library at no cost to the students.
Seeking all Pre-K – 4th grade students to attend the Stem Lab & Literature in the Library workshops at the Milford Memorial Library. The workshops will be put on by an intern, Bradi Baschke. The internship is an Extension and Outreach Project directed by Constance Beecher. The dates of the workshops are: June 9, 16, 23 and 30. The themes will be: Colors, Playdough, Pollination and Bridges. The workshops will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Milford Memorial Library. After the Stem Lab Betty will have a Public Story Time.
If you are in 3rd or 4th grade and you like to create with your hands and use your brain, the Constructors Club is for you! We’ll have fun while constructing something different each month. Come to the library Saturday, June 17, at 11:00 a.m., and prepare to make cars. Don’t forget to bring your thinking cap! There is no cost and all materials are provided by the library.
The theme for the 2017 Children’s Summer Reading Program is “Build a Better World.” Come to the library Tuesday, June 20, at 10 a.m., to see naturalist Bryanna Kuhlman present "Nurture our Nature.” Join us every Tuesday and Friday at 10 a.m., through June 27, for stories, crafts, drama, and more! Young people of all abilities from preschool to 4th grade are invited to participate free of charge. Area libraries are sponsoring Paint Night at the Library in June! Join area libraries on Tuesday, June 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Arnolds Park Library for a fun night of painting, community, and snacks! There are only are only 30 spots available for this painting class. The cost for early registration is $7.50 and registration the day of the event is $15. Those interested can register at the Arnolds Park Public Library, Spirit Lake Public Library, and the Milford Memorial Library. Attendees of any skill level are invited to recreate a beautiful painting by following step-by-step instructions from the artist who created the original painting. Participants will be painting on a 16 x 20 canvas and all the supplies are provided by the libraries. Mark your calendars for Paint Night at the Library!
